About Our School

Our school is a co-educational primary school catering for 450 pupils from 3-11 years of age in the Stoke Newington area of the London Borough of Hackney.

We are proud of the school's role as an integral part of a multicultural and socially mixed community.

Housed in a one-storey building, which was rebuilt after the Second World War, Benthal Primary School has fifteen general teaching rooms, a library, IT and music rooms, and 2 halls.

The site includes two large playgrounds, a separate large outdoor nursery space and several quieter areas.

All admissions applications need to be made through the Learning Trust's admission process.

If parents wish to visit the school before applying, please contact the school office to arrange an appointment.

School Day

Children can be left in the playground from 8:45am.

School starts at 9:00am and the teachers mark the registers at 9:05am.

School ends at 3:30pm and parents collect their junior age children from the playground, infant children are collected from the classroom.

Parents can contact their child's teacher in the playground at 9:00 am and 3:30pm.

Lunch is from 12:00pm - 1:30pm to accommodate all the children.

School meals are cooked on the premises by Caterlink Ltd. ; a choice of meals is provided, which always includes a vegetarian or Halal meat option.

Children may bring a packed lunch if they wish.

There is no school uniform at the school, but children come to school in clothes which are suitable to work in.

All children bring a change of clothes for P.E., including shorts, T shirt and trainers.
