CHILDREN'S AREA

 

1868  The school site was a brickfield.

1876  The school was called Rendlesham Road School when it was first opened.

1903  The school name is changed to Benthal Road School.

1940  The school was bombed on the nineteenth of September. It was bombed by a High Explosive bomb during World War II.

1944  The school was officially closed due to excessive damage.

1949  The school was re-opened.

1951   The school was re-named Benthal School.

1966  A new infant school was built.

1967  More buildings were added and the school was finished.

1976  The school celebrated its centenary

2006  The Junior and Infants Schools were amalgamated to form Benthal Primary School.
