CHILDREN'S AREA

The curriculum comprises of the core subjects of Mathematics, English, Science, RE and IT. Working with computers is now a central part of our curriculum.  We have a new updated ICT suite and each classroom has an interactive whiteboards. Other subjects taught are Design and Technology, History, Geography, Music, Art, and Physical Education.

At the start of each new academic year, the class teachers send out letters explaining the work to be covered and ways parents and carers can support their children’s education. This letter gives information about P.E. and Games times and homework set.

At the end of Key Stage 1, year 2 children take their SATs test in Reading, Writing and Maths. The results of these tests in 2009 were:

In Key Stage 2 children are regularly tested in Maths and Science, and also have weekly spelling tests. In Year 6 the children take their SATs tests. These take place for one week in May. Each child is given a level in Language, Maths and Science. The results for these tests in 2008 were:
